The process of harmonizing the Old Students of Government College, Ikere, formerly Unity Secondary School, Ikere popularly called UNIKOSA took a new turn yesterday. It was an all-interesting moment that lasted for over two hours, on a live Facebook chat between Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo and Olumide Famuyide. It is well known that both are jostling for the office of the President and Vice president of the association respectively. Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo who belonged to the 1995 set graduands of the Great school happens to be the school mother of Olumide Famuyide (Ciroma) who is of the 1999 set. It was evident during the session that they shared good memory of their school days and the bond has remain stronger as time had gone by.
The online chat was watched live accross the globe. Just like Amanpour of CNN would take on her guest on a live TV, it was in like manner Gbemisola and Olumide took on themselves while exhibiting the ọmọlúwàbí traits of the Unity/Government College Ikere trainings, they were so open and direct about their chats that took them to the memory lane not leaving the genesis of how they became school mother and school son to each other. Viewers where at a time requested to mention their present locations. It was until then it became evident that members in their hundreds have joined from accross the globe, in United States of America, Australia, Dubai, Mauritius, Ireland and Europe and also from Nigeria and environs.
One of the highlights of the live session was when Ciroma reveled how he was the letter post man between Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo and her crush then who happened to be the Senior Prefect of 1994 set, Bimbo Alagbeleye. Ciroma as a clown and jovial man he has always been was heard saying Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo was then the most beautiful girl in her class of the '95set. It was such a relaxing moment and rib-cracking as viewers were so excited to see how life in and after school has been able to establish a solid bond between the duo.
While answering questions from viewers, Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo reiterated that the coming election should not be allowed to divide members but rather an opportunity to foster peace and move the association forward in all ramifications. Ciroma on his part made it clear that the election will be an online/electronic elections as outlined by the electoral committee and that there is no need to entertain fear of having a repeat of the occurrence of the 2016 version that was mald with irregularities.
Gbemisola Bisi-Taiwo however, said that she will run an all-inclusive administration that will carry all and sundry along without leaving any party behind should she emerge the next president of the association. She vowed to work with the entire executive team to add value to members of the association. She also revealed her plans to reach out to the younger generations who have been somewhat neglected as claimed by the younger ones who asked her this particular question.
Ciroma also affirm that aspirants in the election should not allow election sentiments divide them but rather see opponents as one family. Ciroma who is also married to a member of his set said that the entire unikosa family should be bond as one at this present time and beyond while revealing his relationship with members who are his seniors, mates and juniors alike.
It was also revealed during the session that the duo had work together in recent past in different committees of the association and their passion to foster progress for the association remains as ever solid. While rounding up the session, Ciroma made clear that no one can come between the love they have both exhibited so far.
