Winners' Chapel sacked over 40 pastors, says their church growth index falls below expectation.

The Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners' Chapel, recently withdrew the services of over forty pastors of the ministry, on ground of low performance. The church served the pastors their letters of release, through of the Area pastors, who summoned the pastors to his office. The sacked pastors receieved the shock of their lives when they were served with letters of release on arrival in the senior pastor's office.

The church, under the spiritual leadership of Pastor David Oyedepo, was said to have received a mandate from God, to plant ten thousand churches in Nigeria. This mandate prompted the church mission to engage the services of more pastors in view to fulfilling their God-given mandate.

One of the sacked pastors, who confirmed this report with journalists in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, said, they were not sacked because of bad behaviors or any irregularities that can tarnish the image of the Church.

The man of God, who gave his name as Pastor Peter Godwin pleaded with the church headquarters to consider them and also the entire body of Christ to help intervane in this matter as they were not given any entitlement, but, were rather directed in the letter to vacate thir official accommodations with immediate effect.

Pastor Godwin affirmed he joined the Winners' Chapel as an ordained pastor of  Christ alongside several others on 28th August, 2020 had went about his duty to the Lord Almighty, trying his possible best to make sure he wins souls for Christ.

The letter of release issued to the pastors on the 1st of July reads in part,

"consequent upon the recent performance reviewed that your church growth index falls below expectation, please, be informed that your services as a pastor-in-charge are no longer required from this commission with immediate effect. You are to vacate your offical accommodation and hand over all properties of the ministry in your custody including the staff ID Card, to the Area Pastor before departure."

Pastor Godwin said he later put a call to the church headquarters the following day in make enquires as to the reasons of their sack, but he was told by the management that, the church mission does not run at a loss. And that it is expected that the income generated by his station should be able to cater for his welfare and accommodation. The failure to achieve this is the reason for his dismissal.

Pastor Peter Godwin condemned the act, saying, "it is uncalled for", and that the church management should better review it, because it is an act that is capable of bringing shame to the body of Christ.
