Release Nnamdi Kanu now, Mbaka tells FG

The Catholic Priest of Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka, has called for the unconditional and immediate release of the self acclaimed Supreme leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Mbaka, who made the request during a sermon on Sunday at Enugu said he already told some government officials whom he alleged came to him with some offers.

The priest was quoted saying, "some persons came to me some time ago that they have two slots for me. I told them I don't need such offers because I have a slot that I need. They said I should mention what I need.

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry said he requested that Nnamdi Kanu be released because kidnapping hasn't stopped in the North and incessant loss of lives has increased since Kanu was arrested.

Fr Mbaka also asked where were the nation's security agencies when several students were kidnapped? While urging the government to use the same energy used in arresting Kanu to arrest the kidnappers.

The Enugu Catholic Priest attributed the high spate of criminal activities in the country to the actions of the politicians who purchases arms for their political thugs during elections and asked the Federal Government to fight poverty, unemployment, activities of heardsmen, injustice and nepotism with the same vigor used in arresting Nnamdi Kanu.
