TAMPAN is the umbrella body for the Yoruba genre of Nollywood.
It used to be ANTP but that association, though still existing, is now a shadow of itself.
TAMPAN is currently headed by Mr Latin.
Adewale Eleso heads ANTP.
TAMPAN has been enmeshed in the controversy concerning the incident with Baba Ijesa.
When the story broke out, the association did nothing, claiming Baba Ijesa was not its member.
This vacuum in leadership was filled by Iyabo Ojo and a certain Nkechi Blessing.
The chaos threw everyone off the balance, the leadership of TAMPAN was the court of disorganised public opinions.
Several sanctions were given as a damage control tactics and then the Jide Kosoko scenario with Iyabo Ojo.
The house was falling apart.
Mr Latin panicked.
He then ran to a social dissident to explain himself.
Esabod or something like that.
Uncouth.
Crude.
With a penchant to abuse everyone.
Vulgar.
Esabod.
More anger for Mr Latin.
Before now, Mr Latin was actually doing well.
He revived most actors' interests in the association.
He took them to meet most south west governors.
They were organising seminars and organising themselves into a semblance of a proper society.
This has been his biggest test so far and he is failing it.
A statement was supposed to have been issued condemning child molestation and sexual assault in strong terms while urging everyone to await the court processes.
As it is now, they need to shift their focus from this never ending drama.
You complicate things by doing an interview with a societal outcast.
Esabod.
Ensure your actors have access to health insurance and convince them that crowd funding is not an health plan.
Organise an housing and vehicle acquisition scheme for your members.
Take the welfare of your members seriously.
Mobilise for members and set the ground rules.
Ensure nobody is bigger than the association even if they are having illicit affairs with the nation's president.
You will have a anyhow society if leadership is missing.
