Following the raid by security agents on the resident of the Yoruba self-determination activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho. The DSS has refused to released the corpses of the two associates of Igboho they killed durring the attack, in his Soka residence in Ibadan.
Recall that the DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, at a press briefing at the DSS headquarters in Abuja on July 1, 2021, disclosed that DSS operatives “gunned down” two of Igboho’s associates while confirming that the DSS was responsible for the midnight attack that lasted for hours.
All avenue to draw facts from the secret police spokesman proved abortive as to whether they took away the corpses, and if yes, why they have refused to release them to their families according to, The PUNCH
Pelumi Olajengbesi, the lawyer handling the case had told newsmen during the week that he'd spoken with the DSS, but they had not yet release the corpses of Adogan and Alfa.
Sources close to the family of the duo confirmed that bodies of the deceased are yet to be released to them for proper burial.
Olajengbesi also disclosed that he and other layers has been consistently denied access to the other 13 arrested persons. He claims the DSS headquarters said they will not grant them access because their case is a case of treasonable felony.
The lawyer also said they will likely make a press conference anytime soon.
In another vain, the Publicity Secretary of the Afenifere, Comrade Jare Ajayi had condemned the attitude of the DSS on the matter and also berates the Federal Government in the manner with which they handle the citizens of Nigeria with no regards to the rule of law.
