2 Americans, 15 Columbians arrested over Haitian President assassination

 


According to Haitian National Police, 15 Columbian nationals and 2 Americans from Haiti descendants who has been identified as James Solages and Joseph Vincent has been arrested over Wednesday's attack on Moïse's home in the hills above Port-au-Prince.


Haitian President Jovenel Moïse and First Lady Martine were attacked and shot 12 times with his eyes gouged out in the attack that took his life and left his wide severely injured.

Ealier report has it that 8 persons were killed during the raid on the suspects hideout, but Leon Charles, Chief of Haitian National Police has debunked this claim and said only 3 suspects were killed. The 3 killed suspects were identified as Columbians. 


The police chief said, they were 26 Columbians, identified by their passports and 2 Haitian-Americans with them. He also vowed that the suspects would be brought to justice.


The Haiti National Police has not given any information on the reasons for the assassination, neither what led them to the suspects hideout. The masterminds of the assassination are not yet revealed as at the press time.
